Although you may be consciously trying to be a healthier slimmer person, some of your efforts may actually be in vain due to new studies that have disproved old myths. If you feel that you are suffering on your diet, you may want to read through the following and see if you can scratch some old habits off your list because many hard and fast health rules are now seeing a new light.
First on the list is the long dreaded egg which has been thought to raise cholesterol levels forcing many people to skip out on eggs altogether. Its true eggs do have cholesterol in them, but our bodies vary the amount it produces every day and will produce less if an egg is consumed. Thus, there is no harm in consuming eggs on a regular basis and given they are low in calories and contain vitamin B-12 and vitamin D it may be a good idea to reintroduce the snack to your health.
Next is that margarine is bad for the heart. In the past this was true because the yellow creamy substance was packed with trans fats, but now most margarines are formulated with healthy mono-unsaturated and poly unsaturated fats making them a much better heart friendly option over butter.
Finally, it turns out you can eat at night, because your body will burn off the same amount of calories regardless of when you ate. A study on monkeys showed that they maintained the same weight regardless of how much they eat at night, so feel free to eat later in the day but keep in mind your overall caloric intake for the day.
