New video helps kids through basic tooth brushing

When your child is very young you should be cleaning their teeth regularly so that they get used to the feeling of a toothbrush in their mouth. Once they are old enough to hold the brush themselves and clean their own teeth, there are various ways to ensure that this becomes as much part of their daily routine as bathing and a good dental routine is vital for when their adult teeth come through.

Nobody cares more about children’s dental hygiene than Colgate, and their latest campaign, complete with fun video, emphasises how this routine can be fun and something you can share with your child. It also highlights the need to clean your teeth for the correct length of time, how much toothpaste to use and how you should start flossing your children’s teeth at around the age of 4.

The video consists of a group of children answering questions about teeth. Their answers are obviously very funny, and while most of them have a decent knowledge of dental hygiene there are a few points to be addressed. As the kids are answering the questions, such as what does a dentist do? And how do you clean your teeth? The correct answers flash up at the bottom of the screen.

The Colgate website is also a good place to head for useful information on dental care in children. Parents should never make the mistake of ensuring their children adopt the same dental routine as they did when they were kids, as the vast majority of British adults have cavities, missing teeth and dentures, hence the fact that we are much maligned by other countries for the state of our teeth. Make sure your kids don’t make the same mistakes by taking advice from the experts in child dental care; Colgate.
